Weekly Wanderings 47: Music I’m Writing to

Hello lovelies!

It feels like the holiday season is officially in full swing. I’ve had way too many holiday drinks at Starbucks. So far, most of them have been caramel brûlée lattes and I’m definitely beginning to feel like I’ve had too much sugar.

Of course, holiday drinks don’t make a holiday season. But really I haven’t had a lot of time to do anything besides write.  I have been able to listen to more music though. Though one can only listen to the soundtrack for Lord of the Rings so many times.

I never asked for this, but this gift has been given. And seriously this song is hilarious.

One of my friends recently introduced me to the Youtube channel Postmodern Jukebox and I’ve just been going through all their videos. I really like the retro style of the music and some of their covers are better than the originals. One of my favorites is this cover of Lovefool by the Cardigans with a vintage jazz feel to it.

Another great cover from them is of Creep by Radiohead.

I’ve also been listening to a lot of musicals. For some reason I’ve been really stuck on Requiem from Dear Evan Hansen. Also Defying Gravity from Wicked. Also Down Once More from Phantom of the Opera.

And if that’s distracting for you, I totally recommend listening to all your favorite music in French. Somehow a lot of music is just better in French.

Thanks for reading this week!

Hopefully, I’ll have something more for you next week!
