Weekly Wanderings 9: Happy Easter!

Hello lovelies!

I’m coming off my wisdom teeth extraction finally. It was definitely more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I’m so glad I won’t have to do it again! And I’m so grateful that I can have solid food again!

I tried the Salted Cheese Green Tea from Happy Lemon for the first time this week. I thought that the salted cheese would be strange tasting. Like what could cheese and green tea possibly taste like? It turns out it tastes a lot like sea salt and delicious tea. Unlike sea salt cream, the salted cheese is a bit creamier and a lot thicker. But the overall effect is really delicious. I highly recommend it!

This week is also the last week of Disney California’s Food and Wine Festival 2017. My favorite dish from this festival was the Salmon Tataki! I was surprised. The salmon was really fresh and the portion size wasn’t bad for the price. I fell in love with the avocado wasabi sauce and the seaweed salad was an amazing base for the dish. It was so good I bought it twice!

The deviled eggs with smoked trout were just ok.

But the bacon mac and cheese was definitely worth it! My favorite part was the crispy bits of onion and bacon on top to give it texture.

And for dessert I tried this artichoke and dark chocolate cake pop. I really didn’t know what to expect. I don’t like artichokes but I was willing to try it once in a dessert. And it really wasn’t bad! It mostly tasted like chocolate and the pistachios on top were really nice. The interior was creamy and sweet and the whole thing didn’t taste like artichoke at all.

I really loved this year’s Food and Wine at California Adventure. And I’m really glad I had a Disney pass so that I could really experience it. I will be going to Disney World’s Food and Wine in the Fall this year as well and if this is any indication of how it’s going to be, I’m definitely looking forward to it!

In other life news…

I came across this article on how to make beautiful onion flowers by Once Upon a Cutting Board. It seems like a wonderful recipe to make when entertaining guests.

And I’m absolutely entranced with these beautiful embroideries from Chloe Giordano’s etsy shop. They’re enchanting woodland creatures painstakingly done in exquisite detail. It makes me want to take up embroidery.

Until next week,

Happy Easter!
