Starbucks is really rolling out the sweet drinks this spring. Recently they had a similar drink the Smoked Butterscotch Latte, which really felt like a test market for this drink. (You can see my review on that drink here) And that was followed by a very limited run of the Cherry Blossom Frappuccino, a very sweet and refreshing drink ( And the review for that is here).
The way that Starbucks describes their newest addition sounds simple irresistible.
A sweet caramel honey sauce is slow-cooked for 45 minutes, developing a unique, rich flavor. Blend that with our bold espresso roast, milk and ice and top it with whipped cream and honey sugar sprinkles, and you’ve got a taste that’ll truly take you to the land of milk and honey.
I was really excited to try it!
Despite how it’s starting to get warm I opted for the hot latte. The sweet caramel taste of the syrup lends itself to the creaminess of the latte. The caramel taste is deep but the honey adds lightness to the flavor. As a result the drink is really well balanced and not too cloying. And to top it off the honey sugar sprinkles are really delicious! I would definitely recommend this drink as one of those great anytime drinks. I’ll probably try the Frappuccino sometimes soon.
Happy sipping!
Sounds good.
