Starbucks smoked butterscotch latte sounds so sexy. The Starbucks website describes this drink as

“Notes of smoked butterscotch and a dash of spice intermingle with our full-bodied espresso, giving your morning latte a sophisticated new twist.”

We’ve seen something similar to this drink before. Coffee Bean Tea Leaf offered a salted butterscotch latte last year ( a link to my review on this drink here). And the infamous butterbeer frappuccino, a fan creation, has long been made with Starbucks toffee nut syrup.

And sadly, this drink is really nothing new. It has a sweet caramel kind of taste. And in a frappuccino I find that it is actually very light and refreshing. I expected that the drink would be extremely sweet but it’s actually very subtle. The caramel brulee latte would be a close comparison to this drink and a very likely substitute for those that are really craving the out of stock holiday drink.

This drink is nothing new. But it is still pretty tasty.
