Hello, sorry I’m a whole week late on this post. Last week wasn’t very interesting and I happened to get the flu at the beginning of this week. So I’ve been bedridden for most of the week in addition to having twisted my ankle on Sunday at my church’s Sports Day. Oftentimes weeks like this can be downright depressing. But I did have an exciting weekend! Me and a huge group of friends went to Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday and it was a surprisingly relaxed day. We took a hard pass on the Fright Night mazes and went out for Korean BBQ instead. My favorite part of the park was the snickers funnel cake. If you have a chance to try it, it’s 100% worth the calories.
A couple of weeks ago I bought this adorable cat-eared knit beanie and I’ve been wearing it to the office since the weather has turned cold. I love the fall! There are so many opportunities for layering and looking cute. And I’m excited for Fall activities such as apple picking and all the holiday food. I think I’ll make a post about seasonal food soon for some inspiration. The persimmons in my backyard came into season and I can’t get enough of them!
I’ve been recipe testing with blue pea flower, it’s a tea that when brewed has a beautiful blue hue which changes color depending on what you add to it. I love tea and playing with tea and tea pairings is really exciting for me. I’ve been debating internally if I’d like to start hosting tea parties or mixers. Otherwise I’m just going to get fat off of drinking all this tea by myself! Additionally, I’ve rediscovered my local middle eastern market and I’ve fallen in love with cooking lamb. Though some cuts need long hours of broiling, I find the tender fall-off-the-bone meat to be entirely worth it. It also gives me some motivation to cook with more spices. Lately, I’ve been experimenting more and more with cinnamon, nutmeg, and star anise. I’m pretty sick of bland food after Whole 30.
Anyways, that was my pretty uninspiring week.
