I’m so excited to cook in my new kitchen! I haven’t really had the time to actually cook, but I should make time in the near future.
After sorting out my spices into my new spice tins, I’ve been trying to figure out what I can do with my spice collection. This article by Cook Smarts has some really helpful info-graphics on spices. I had a whole packet of cloves that I bought some time in the past and I’ve been wondering what to do with them. This article by Spiceography had a lot of good suggestions for cooking with cloves.
These Toffee Butter Icebox Cookies by Mom on Time Out sound so delicious and seem like a great make ahead recipe for when I just want to bake a couple of cookies at a time.
I’ve been shopping at IKEA a lot recently as I’ve been getting new furniture for my apartment. And I’ve also been buying a lot of cinnamon rolls from IKEA. They’re an easy breakfast and thoroughly delicious. It kind of inspires me to make my own. This recipe by Tastes of Lizzy T seems to be just what I need.
For the Halloween season Trader Joe’s has a Squid Ink Spaghetti. I couldn’t help myself so I bought a packet. Serious Eats has a recipe for Easy Italian Squid Ink Pasta with Shrimp and Scallops that I’ll probably try.
