Weekly Wanderings 43: Head Above Water

Hello Lovelies!

It’s just the beginning of October and I’m already thinking about National Novel Writing Month. For those of you who don’t know, during the month of November there’s a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. This will be my 11th year doing this challenge! And I’m excited and wary as usual. November is the month I pretty much cease to exist socially.

The NaNoWriMo Blog put out this great article on how to map your story like a subway line. And I found it really really helpful. Especially when you write fantasy it’s easy to get sidetracked and get lost in tangents or world-building. I think I’ll try this method this year instead of my standard outline.

Avril Lavigne’s new single “Head Above Water” dropped this week. I’ve always really liked her music and I was really excited to hear that she’s still releasing new songs. In “Head Above Water” Avril shares about her struggle with Lyme disease and how it’s led her back to her Christian faith. Overall, I really like the song and I’m excited to hear more from her in the future!

I’m still looking up what feels like a million recipes I want to try in my new kitchen.

I saw this really interesting recipe for No Churn Ricotta Ice Cream by How Sweet Eats.

And then there’s this No Spread Gingerbread Cookie recipe by the Kitchen Paper.

Also, This London Fog Vanilla Bean Shortbread recipe from The Cafe Sucre Farine.

So much to cook but so little time!

Anyways, have a great week!

Thanks for reading!
